Aberthau/West Point Grey Poppy Garden Project for Remembrance Day: Resident artist Laura Lee Coles from Loco Moto Art planted Flander’s poppy seeds with the preschool students in the community garden on Wednesday, November 9th, 2016.
Laura Lee invited local Canadian Military Veteran, Yuri Miljevic-Laroche to recite the famous poem "Flanders Field" during the plantings and talk with the students about his experiences serving in Bosnia and Afghanistan. At Aberthau, everyone was serenade, by resident Wheat Weaver Brian Jones, who his accordion during the plantings.
