With a full class of 16 children and 1 adult, Wynne introduced this popular cold lighting as a viable art material to use as luminescent lighting for simple lanterns. After drawing, coloring and painting, white paper bags were hole punched and/or cut to allow weaving of the thin wire to create unique lanterns, which the students were thrilled to take home!
"Wow, neat!"
"We get to keep these?"
"How does it work?"
"Can you use this with fabric?"
"I'm using mine in my bedroom as a night light!"
Wynne will be offering 3 more El Wire workshops this Fall through West Point Grey Community Centre.
